When Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross's mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, she searches frantically for ways to help her without much success. These miracles in healing change the way she views medicine and healing in a way that she could not have expected. Her own personal journey began with her mother's illness and then her own. The greatest challenge she will face, however, is her son's illness which forces her to face her own dark night of the soul.
