Synopsis "Morir en Primavera"

Rothmann describes the ending of the Second World War, February 1945, in north Germany, when the Nazi troops are about to succumb to the Allies. War consequences are visible everywhere. Walter and Friedrich, two seventeen-year-old friends who work on a cow farm, think they’ll never be requested to fight. But they’ll be recruited: Walter will be assigned to a provision unit; and Friedrich to the Hungarian front. This book has been acclaimed as one of the most important novels of contemporary German fiction. It is a book about war, innocence, guilt, freedom, and destiny in the craziness of the Nazis.
