This book revolves around two issues: wounds in the heart and Christian freedom. Most times wounds in the heart have their origins within ourselves. Christian freedom is then a way toward healing. Anselm Grün proposes a trip from classical ancient times (Epictetus, John Chrysostom and several biblical passages) to our days in order to show how some human aspects are permanent. When we hurt ourselves, a Christian mysticism which arises out of freedom is the only thing that can heal us. It is the only way to live somewhat happy.
