I wrote this book for the following reasons: - I am a retired U.S. Army medical officer, served in two wars, wounded in the first, and will be buried in Mount Holly Cemetery.- I had a Great Grandfather who served in the Confederate Army ofTennessee at Shiloh, TN. He is buried in Little Rock as well.- I had a Grandfather who, as as hospital commander in WWI, recruited and mobilized a Red Cross hospital. The hospital wasdeployed to England. My grandfather was deployed to France asChief Surgeon of the 12th Field Hospital in France in 1919.- There are 18 Confederate Military Surgeons buried in MountHolly Cemetery.- Post Civil War, all of the Mount Holly physicians participated inthe advancement of medicine in the state of Arkansas.I hope you will enjoy the medical history of these physicians.They should not be forgotten.
