Durante diez años, fundamentalmente entre 1961 y 1970, Roberto Otero (fotógrafo, periodista, escritor y documentalista cinematográfico) toma cientos de imágenes de Picasso, dando lugar con ello a un ingente fondo fotográfico que fue adquirido por el Museo Picasso Málaga en 2005. Las más de 1500 imágenes que conforman este archivo, entre negativos, diapositivas, copias en papel e internegativos, constituyen un importante testimonio documental centrado en el último periodo de vida del artista y en el momento en que traslada su residencia habitual a Notre-Dame-de-Vie, en la localidad de Mougins, al sur de Francia.
