"Estas Poesías Completas fueron corregidas por el autor y preparadas para imprimir unas semanas antes de su fallecimiento. Reúne la totalidad de los libros publicados por Carlos Sahagún (Onil, Alicante, 1938-Madrid, 2015) con la excepción de los sonetos de una plaquette de 1955, e incluyendo, bajo el epígrafe de «Últimos poemas 1978-2000», 28 poesías inéditas de un libro cuyo título, El lugar de los pájaros, no consideró recuperar.
El poeta ha manifestado, en varias ocasiones, que no ha escrito poesía después del año 2000. Con esa fecha ha cerrado este libro."
