Oriental or 'floating' stringwork is an old techique and can be manipulated to provide a number of different visual effects. This booklet focusses on the method to apply one of these arrangements, Stringwork 018, to the upper circumference of a cake. This 018 stringwork is intended to be part of the detail of a complete cake. This particular design is suitable for wedding cakes, bridal shower cakes, baptism cakes and more. However, it is highly recommended to apply this design to decorative dummy cakes rather than baked cakes due to the type of handling required to apply this concept.
