Uno de sus integrantes, Hans Helfritz, fotógrafo y reconocido documentalista de la época, cameraman de la DIC, debía realizar un registro gráfico de la isla y sus habitantes. Este libro incluye imágenes inéditas y en colores que él realizó hace más de 70 años.
The trip of the “Easter Island Commission” in the “Angamos” transport of the Chilean Navy in December 1946 to Rapa Nui, was composed of a variety of professionals, each one would develop a diagnosis of the life and avatars of the Rapanui people. One of its members, Hans Helfritz, photographer and renowned documentary maker of the time, cameraman of the DIC, had to make a graphic record of the island and its inhabitants. This book includes unpublished and colored images that he made more than 70 years ago.

Die Reise der “Osterinsel-Kommission” im Angamos-Transport der chilenischen Marine im Dezember 1946 nach Rapa Nui bestand aus einer Vielzahl von Fachleuten, die jeweils eine Diagnose über das Leben und die Wechselfälle der Rapanui entwickelten. Eines seiner Mitglieder, Hans Helfritz, Fotograf und renommierter Dokumentarfilmer der damaligen Zeit, Kameramann des DIC, musste die Insel und ihre Bewohner grafisch festhalten.
