Synopsis "Sable Torcido del General, el"

EL SABLE TORCIDO DEL GENERAL, novela inspirada en la figura del general Batet, está construida en torno a dos acontecimientos: la actuación de este militar en defensa de la legalidad republicana en el tormentoso mes de octubre de 1934 -el mes que vería el levantamiento asturiano y la proclamación por Companys de la República Catalana-, y su encarcelamiento y ejecución en Burgos, en febrero de 1937, a manos del ejército de Franco y por decisión de éste. Con un brillante lenguaje y un vigoroso ritmo narrativo, la novela mezcla realidad y ficción, dando lugar a un relato verosímil que arranca en los postreros momentos de un hombre cuyo recorrido vital fue ejemplar, pero al que la Guerra Civil puso un cierre aterrador, preludio siniestro de lo que iban a ser los años siguientes.
