The book presents a case study of the Brazilian Lodging Classification System SBClass, with research carried out at the Hotel Tijuco designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, located in Diamantina in the state of Minas Gerais. The topics covered were the development of the means of accommodation, its definition, history and classification, from the first reports of accommodation to the present day. The historical account helps in the approach to the classification system for accommodation facilities in Brazil and how this historical process helped in the construction of the SBClass.
