Southern Rock star, Michael St. James, was at the top of his game in the music business. He and his band, Platoon, had just hit their second platinum album and they were set to begin a nearly one year tour. Platoon was far from an overnight sensation. The group had been together for over ten years, initially forming when they were in the United States Army as a Special Operations unit. The unit saw the worst of humanity during their assignment in Afghanistan in 2002. They'd lost a lot during that long mission, and then, without warning, a bright young army lawyer working on a special assignment was dropped on them. Her arrival changed everything for Michael...forever. Serena McCoy was sunshine and steel packaged in a tiny body with a mass of white-blond hair and an infectious smile with the bluest eyes Michael had ever seen.
