Synopsis "Sovereign Blood Feud (in English)"

Excerpts: Draden: "Once the life has left her, I let go of her neck, and her limp body plunges to the ground, landing atop her deceased lover. I take a moment to gaze at this motionless corpse of a beauty whom I've just robbed of her very life and say to myself . . . What a waste." Leandra: "I can hear the soldiers outside of our door, fighting with the soldiers trying to get inside. Our men easily kill them, and the blood runs thick as it seeps underneath the door and over to our naked bodies. It covers us, which only increases our appetite." When they ruled the old world: "IT'S BEEN A hundred and sixteen years since I left a peasant town in smoke and rubble. Here in Sicily, where I declared that I would never fall in love, or allow myself to be loved again, I've met someone. A young woman named Leandra. She's like me, a darkling. Both of us bloodsuckers, both immortals, but most of all, we've noticed that while we're together, our abilities are three times as powerful. Since we've been together, an eclipse has formed, allowing us to walk about the city anytime we want. We are gods, and as such, we should be worshipped." And when the guardians find them this time: "I see two men throwing Leandra and our daughter, Kaelen, into the back of a white van and shutting the door. When he steps around the van, I see that it's Lorenzo and his crew. The first van pulls away while Lorenzo walks around the other. He looks up and notices me standing in the middle of the street, and I see the look of panic overrun his face.
