And yet, despite the inflated claims which are made for the practice - even, for many, regarding it as a sacrament - the results are pitifully small and transient. So argues David Gay, as have others before him. In this work, he explores this, and sets out what he sees as the biblical cure. And going down the sacramental route is not that cure! Rather, Gay calls for the vigorous promotion, encouragement and exercise of the glorious new-covenant doctrine of the priesthood of all believers.
