Synopsis "Stenopelix: Papageienschnabel oder Dickschädel? (in German)"

1855 kam auf dem Berg Harrl bei Bückeburg das kopflose Skelett eines kleinen Dinosauriers aus der Unterkreidezeit vor etwa 140 Millionen Jahren zum Vorschein. Der Fund wurde von Hermann von Meyer (1801-1869), dem bedeutendsten deutschen Wirbeltierpaläontologen des 19. Jahrhunderts, untersucht, 1857 wissenschaftlich beschrieben und Stenopelix ("Enges Becken") genannt. Über die schwierige Identifizierung dieses nur zwei Meter langen Pflanzenfressers berichtet das Taschenbuch "Stenopelix". Verfasser sind der Wissenschaftsautor Ernst Probst und der Paläontologe Raymund Windolf (1953-2010). Beide haben 1993 das Buch "Dinosaurier in Deutschland" veröffentlicht. Daraus stammt der mit einer Kurzbiographie von Hermann von Meyer ergänzte Text dieses Taschenbuches.
