Synopsis "Tamerlan el Grande I-Ii"

Christopher Marlowe nació en 1564 en Canterbury -el mismo año que Shakespeare- y murió en 1593. Ya desde el estreno de Tamerlán el Grande en 1587, Marlowe consiguió triunfar en los escenarios londinenses. Su carrera como dramaturgo fue sumamente exitosa, y todas sus obras, representadas en exclusividad por la compañía Admiral´s Men, fueron muy aplaudidas. Según la crítica, Tamerlán es la obra de Marlowe de más consistente intensidad y más generosos recursos poéticos. Se la señala como una creación de extraordinaria fuerza, concentrada en su protagonista, Timur el Cojo (del persa Timür-i lang), el último de los grandes conquistadores nómadas de Asia Central.
