The goal of IO is to gain and maintain information superiority that translates to a competitive edge in the information environment. Users of Training Circular (TC) 18-06, Special Forces Guide to Information Operations, must be familiar with the decisionmaking process established in Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 5-0, The Operations Process, and the operational concepts established in ADP 3-0, Unified Land Operations. This TC serves as a guide to describe the fundamentals of how to incorporate IO at the tactical and operational level.
