« Tenochtitlan » réfère aux flûtes populaires amérindiennes, au fil d’une longue évocation chorégraphique, parfois légèrement hypertonale – ce qui tisse une trame continue, entre thèmes traditionnels et composition contemporaine. Ce « Grand Solo » de saxophone soprano, de niveau moyen à difficile – qui fait briller l’instrument, est accompagné au piano. Colette Mourey est une guitariste, musicologue - professeur émérite à l’Université de Franche-Comté, et compositrice, née en 1954. Pour élaborer son langage musical, l’hypertonalité, elle se sera fondée sur le contrepoint atonal jusqu’à en élargir les échelles qui, devenues non cycliques, forgent des spirales, à l’image des Structures Fondamentales de la Vie. La compositrice a remporté plusieurs Prix Internationaux (« Music and Earth », 2012, 3 Prizes, de la IBLA Foundation : 2012, 2013 and 2014) et plusieurs sélections mondiales, grâce à la « Fondazione Adkins Chiti : Donne in Musica », pour « Abacus », « Quintetto La Maestria », « 3 Variations sur l’Hymne Européen »…
