Posteriormente cursó escritura creativa en la Universidad Johns Hopkins de Portland y obtuvo un máster de estudios africanos en la Universidad de Yale. Su reconocida TEDx Talk Querida Ijeawele. Cómo educar en el feminismo, se ha convertido en uno de los discursos feministas más divulgados y leídos de todos los tiempos. Actualmente vive entre Nigeria y Estados Unidos.
