The Bullmastiff is a large-sized breed of domestic dog. During the 19th century, the Bullmastiff was developed by gamekeepers and guards for the purpose of guarding large estates. The Bullmastiff was developed by interbreeding the English Mastiff and the Old English Bulldog. Gamekeeper's would normally favor brindle coat colorations as it provides the Bullmastiff with effective camouflage at night.
