He is mugged on his way home from work, loses his memory and then winds up at the very orphanage he has been working to close. Folks there take him in and he works hard to help them raise money to pay the mortgage. When his memory returns, he devises a plan to save his career and the orphanage, but loses both his job and the trust of the people he was trying to help. Ultimately, he turns to the Lord who causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Circumstances begin to take a turn. Then, the miracle of God's providence takes center stage in this warm and endearing Christmas story.
