His dramatic reformation lasted five years, until he relapsed back into serious criminality. At the age of 42 he was found hanged in a California prison cell. In an effort to understand what happened, and how his chances in the community might have been improved, this book describes his psychopathic personality and behavior, his successes in the community, and his failure to sustain a law-abiding lifestyle.
