Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald (Saint Paul, Minnesota, 24 de septiembre de 1896-Hollywood, California, 21 de diciembre de 1940) fue un militar, anfitrión, novelista y escritor estadounidense, ampliamente conocido como uno de los mejores autores del siglo xx, cuyos trabajos son paradigmáticos de la era del jazz. Escribió cinco novelas: El gran Gatsby, Suave es la noche, A este lado del paraíso, Hermosos y malditos y El último magnate, que, aunque sin terminar, fue publicada tras su muerte.
