His tranquil life is turned upside down when embarks on a journey with his old friend Declan. In this, the first part of the Scarab trilogy, the pair encounter the fairies from Knockainy lead by the beautiful Queen Aina, keen to solve this puzzle Aina sends Orla and Finola to help the leprechauns. Their task is made even more difficult when they encounter Shadraic and his band of Knocksink Goblins who along with the Purple Mountain Fairies a rebellious band commanded by Shinola cause chaos along the way . Billy soon discovers that all is not what it appears. Part One of the Scarab Trilogy takes the reader on a journey of magic, folklore with rivers, mountains and the lush green countryside of Ireland providing the perfect backdrop to a tale which all ages will enjoy.
