The story behind the making of Tim's adventures with Dino Detective "The Fix Up" Have you ever wondered about far off worlds when you were younger but never could share it with an actual person? Well growing up for me was sort of like that. I would dream and conjure up different things about realities. For instance, this one story about a boy, Tim, who found a magic piece of paper that lets him bring an imaginary explorer/detective into this life as this story partly begins in this book. I thought of Tim from my imagination as an alter ego of myself who loved to do things I the author could not do for instance which is find and solve cases with the help of a friend or friends. I wrote this story when I was fifteen (way back in1993) and finally got it published recently in 2005. I wanted a catchy phrase like busy the bee or alter the elephant so I came up with the term Dino the Detective. Who assists the star of the story, Tim. One day there will be even more adventures with Tim, and even more zany fun.
