Synopsis "Transdermal Formulation and Evaluation of Polymeric Film of Olmesartan (in English)"

The aim of the present study is to formulate & evaluate a suitable matrix type transdermal polymeric film of Olmesartan Medoxomil using two different polymeric combinations, Eudragit RL 100 (E RL 100) and Hydroxyl Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC). The preformulation parameters were evaluated for their suitability to formulate transdermal polymeric film. The transdermal polymeric film was successfully prepared and critically investigated. The evaluation parameter such as FTIR for its compatibility of the drug with polymer, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) photographs of the prepared film were taken to see the drug distribution pattern, Physical studies including moisture content, moisture uptake, flatness to study the stability of the formulations and In vitro permeation study is conducted in a modified Franz's diffusion cell by using rat skin membrane & cellophane membrane. The obtained result confirms that it complies as per specification or reported methods. Based on the above observations, it can be reasonably concluded that E RL 100 & HPMC polymers are the best-suited polymers for the development of TDDS of Olmesartan Medoxomil.
