Synopsis "Walking With My Daughter's Cane: Pictures of our journey with God. (in English)"

Have you ever thought about the things in life that support you and keep you from falling? "Walking With My Daughter's Cane" is a book of recollections by The Rev. Paul FitzPatrick, as he walked with God through fifteen years of trying times. The book is from the point of view of one who has stumbled and fallen in life and not someone looking from the outside merely giving advice. "Walking With My Daughter's Cane" will speak to you with comfort and God's love. Rev. FitzPatrick draws from Scripture to reflect on people like Job, King David, Jeremiah, St. Peter and St. Paul. The analogy of a cane serves as a picture of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support. When you trip and fall down, you may look up to God and ask, "Why me?," turn to these pages and find God as the One who will pick you up and strengthen you: strengthen you to face a child's illness, or your own times of faltering; even questioning God. You will encounter images of grace and love from God - and from one who has walked With His Daughter's Cane. The Rev. Paul J. FitzPatrick was born in 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA, the fourth son of Robert Lee and Fern FitzPatrick. He is a Pastor of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, retiring after thirty-seven years of ministry and has degrees from Concordia Collegiate Institute, Bronxville, NY, Concordia College, Ft. Wayne, IN, Concordia Seminary-In-Exile, St. Louis, MO, and The University of Akron, Akron, OH. He is presently enjoying his retirement in Iowa with Mary, his wife of forty years. His goals in life are to "get to heaven and take as many people with me as possible," love God, love his wife, play his guitars, and spoil his two wonderful grandchildren.
