El fotografo aleman, Walter Roil, fue un gran profesional de la fotografia. En 1934 viaja a Argentina y decide instalarse definitivamente en el pais. Abre su propia empresa de fotografia Foto Roil en Rio Gallegos. Desde el principio, tuvo la vision de conservar en su archivo todas las fotografias que obtenia. Asi, se conserva desde el primer negativo del 1934. Por ello, Foto Roil es considerado hoy el principal archivo historico en manos privadas de la provincia y uno de los mas importantes del pais. Su material ha sido declarado de Interes Provincial.The German photographer, Walter Roil, was a great professional. In 1934, he traveled to Argentina and decided to live definitely in the country. He opened his own company, Foto Roil, in Rio Gallegos. From the beginning, he had the vision to file all the photos. Thus, the first negative from the year 1934 is kept. Foto Roil is considered to be the main historical private file of the province of Santa Cruz and one of the most important of the country. Roil s material has been declared as Provincial Interest.
