Synopsis "What Happened in Jackson County, Ohio July 17, 1863? (in English)"
On July 17, 1863 Brigadier General John Hunt Morgan with almost 2,000 Confederate cavalrymen rode through Jackson County, Ohio. General Morgan's first brigade, commanded by Colonel Basil Duke, went through Jackson and then Berlin Crossroads. His second brigade, commanded by Colonel Adam Johnson, went through Jackson and then Winchester. General Morgan left Jackson and went through Berlin Crossroads with his first brigade. We are going to read several eye witness descriptions of what happened on July 17. The descriptions don't all agree but eye witness descriptions seldom do.
