Synopsis "What is it all worth? (in English)"

The story that you are about to read is entirely fictional, but I have framed the book around actual characters, institutions, and events. The story includes criminal activities, and there is no suggestion that these happened in reality...but they may well have done! I mention real stockbroking firms and banks and have created fictional ones as well, because many events that have happened in the last sixty years appear too far-fetched to be credible but really did take place. The title of the book is drawn from the ideas of the Beatles song "Can't Buy Me Love" and the ABBA song "Money, Money, Money." I want to pose a simple question to the reader: what's it all worth, and what values are we all willing to sacrifice to get what we want? I have suggested courses of action, but all of you will, I hope, think differently. That for me is the glory of life and the fun of writing a book!
